3rd Street Gallery is pleased to present, Desaturation, a solo exhibition by Rhea Dennis featuring works on paper.
Rhea Dennis graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After working in oils and gouache for many years she became interested in papermaking. She has developed a unique way of working with handmade paper.
Rhea fuses the art of papermaking with her sensibilities as a painter. She has been a member of Third Street Gallery and The Guild of Papermakers for many years and currently resides in Philadelphia with her husband, Robert (who is also an artist) and a very bad dog named Petey.

Postponed - Looking Up, works on paper by Matthew Hall
In Looking Up, Matthew Hall is exploring the experience of looking up through his own eyes, as well as finding others doing the same. This exhibition of gestural, ink-works on paper is focussed on ironwork and lighting fixtures found in Italy. Additional works relating to scenes of travelers, museum-goers, and shoppers in the midst of the same experience, and scenes found in Philadelphia after returning from a trip to Italy with eyes still trained to look up.

As an extension of this month's current community exhibit, Embodiment: The Figure in Art, 3rd Street Gallery invites you to an entertaining and creative evening of drawing from live models with complimentary wine and refreshments, Friday, March 13, 2020 from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at 3rd Street Gallery.
This event offers guests of all artistic skill levels and first-timers an opportunity to create original drawings as they enjoy wine, soda and snacks. During this “Sip and Sketch” experienced models will be staged with props for a frighteningly good time. This is an uninstructed 3-hr drawing session with live models beginning with quick 2 minute poses to warm up, gradually extending to longer 30 minute poses.
Please bring your own supplies (dry media only). Seating is first come first serve, so be sure to come early to get a seat and settle in! Respect the models. No photography of the models and please clean up after yourself.
