Bobbie Diamond Adams: Remembering China

"The world you see there is unlike anything else; the work you see here is inspired by China's vast majestic and breathtaking landscapes, seemingly unaffected by the interloper humanity. As it turns out, it seems that China was speaking to me long before I actually got to stand on the Great Wall or climb the Guilan mountainside. I strive to present moments in time, to create atmospheric places..... to create artwork whose subject is open to many interpretations..somewhere between what you see and what you feel. At any rate, the images tell the story better than I. I have been working this way for a long time."

Adams works in her studio in Tacony, north of Philadelphia, and as a shop assistant in the Printmaking Department at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She has a BA in Studio Arts from the University of Rochester and has taken advanced studies at Womens Studio Workshop, Haystack Mountain School of Craft, Penland, PAFA, UARTS, the NJ Printmaking Council. Adams has shown DaVinci Art Alliance and Perkins Center for the Arts; Montgomery County Community College; Southern Graphics Conferences in Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Knoxville. She has won jurors awards from Perkins Center for the Arts, Ellarslie Museum, Philadelphia Sketch Club, and the Third Street Gallery Philadelphia.
